Tummy tuck surgeries

Tummy tuck has its reasons, including:

The weakness of the abdominal muscles is the main culprit in the occurrence of sagging abdomen, which occurs as a result of many factors, the most important of which are pregnancy and childbirth, and the sharp drop in weight in particular; after bariatric surgeries.

Abdominal sagging is not limited to those who suffer from obesity, but may also occur to those who suffer from thinness, because it occurs as a result of muscle weakness.

Lifting sagging surgeries are performed after weight stability to ensure that sagging does not appear again.

Do not spoil the joy of losing weight in the form of annoying sagging, which greatly affects your appearance, your psyche, and your choice of clothes.

Smoking must be completely stopped at least two weeks before the operation because of its harmful effect on wound healing.

Also, the patient avoids medications that affect blood thinners, such as aspirin, to avoid bleeding during and after the operation.

Causes of sagging abdomen:

1- Rapid weight loss.

2- Weight imbalance up and down.

3- Recurrent pregnancy.

4- Increased inner belly fat.

5- Weakness of the abdominal muscles.

Types of tummy tuck surgeries :

Mini tummy tuck:

In cases of sagging in the lower abdomen only, with weak muscles in the lower abdomen as well, only through a small wound such as a caesarean section in the lower abdomen.

Tummy Tuck Total Abdominoplasty

In cases of sagging below and above the navel with weakness in the abdominal muscles, in this case the abdominal fat may be suctioned first, and then the abdominal sagging is tightened with the navel position changed to its original position and the abdominal muscles rebuilt. In those cases, the wound is larger than the caesarean section wound and extends between the two pelvic bones.

Belt Lipectomy

This is in people who lose a lot of weight after obesity operations due to the presence of sagging in the abdomen, sides, lower back and buttocks, and a circular surgical lift is made to tighten the lower body.

How is the tummy tuck procedure performed?

1- The patient undergoes renal anesthesia, and the operation takes 3 to 6 hours.

2- The fat and excess skin in the abdominal area are removed after surgical incisions are made, then the skin is tightened to obtain a beautiful cohesive shape.

3- Surgical openings are sutured cosmetically.

What can I expect after a tummy tuck?

The results do not appear immediately after the operation, but rather it takes some time for the results to appear, after the swelling resulting from the operation has subsided. The final result and shape are crystallized within six months at most.

The patient may feel pain, especially in the first days after the operation, which quickly disappears after taking painkillers.

Arm lift

Sagging arms occur as a result of many factors, the most prominent of which is weight loss, which is followed by sagging of the skin in many areas of the body, the most important of which is the arms, which greatly affect the appearance of the arms and the general shape. It also causes a lot of restriction in choosing clothes.

What are the causes of sagging arms?

  • Aging, which is accompanied by weakness in the muscles of the arms and relaxation of the skin.
  • Obesity.
  • Obesity surgeries that achieve significant weight loss followed by sagging arms.
  • Liposuction operations are sometimes accompanied by sagging in the arms.
  •  Hormonal causes.
  • Not drinking enough water leads to sagging skin.

2- The surgical incision is made, which extends from under the armpit, and its length and size vary according to the state of sagging and the amount of tension required to be made.

3- Excess fat and sagging skin are removed with the arms tightened to give the shape of the taut arms.

4- Finally, the surgical incision is closed and bandages are placed on the arms, which last for a few days after the operation.
